Messi to travel with Inter Miami squad to Jamaica, coach confirms
KINGSTON, Jamaica — It has been confirmed that Argentina superstar Lionel Messi will be travelling to Jamaica with Inter Miami ahead of their Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 second leg tie with Cavalier on Thursday.
There were doubts whether the 37-year-old would make the trip after missing Inter Miami’s first leg against Cavalier last week as well as the MLS game against Charlotte FC on Sunday.
However, Messi has been in training for the last couple of days, including Wednesday morning.
Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano says the World Cup winner will be on the plane to Kingston.
However, he couldn’t confirm whether he would take part in the game.
Inter Miami have a 2-0 advantage heading into Thursday’s second leg.
