STETHS to host Olivier Shield this weekend

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth will host Saturday’s staging of the ISSA Olivier Shield between daCosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo High and Manning Cup winners Kingston College, organisers announced on Monday.

The traditional play-off for the all-island high school champion is to be hosted by the daCosta Cup champions this year based on the alternate hosting rights rules of the competition.

Garvey Maceo won their third daCosta Cup title on Saturday, coming from behind to beat McGrath High on penalty kicks at the National Stadium. A day earlier, Kingston College won their 17th Manning Cup title when they beat St Catherine High 3-1 at the same venue.

Saturday’s game will be a repeat of the 2021-2022 Olivier Shield game that was won by Kingston College.
