Shayne Kerr re-elected as G2K president
Kingston, Jamaica – Shayne Kerr has been re-elected as President of Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
He was re-elected at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday.
Kerr will be joined at the helm by newly-elected vice presidents Juma Francis, Nicole Ebanks, Newton Harris, and Kayla Belnavis, marking a new era of leadership for the organisation. Sashana-lee Edwards will return as general secretary.
Expressing gratitude for the continued confidence placed in him, Kerr stated, “I am honoured and humbled to be entrusted by members to lead such a noble organization of young professionals. A great deal of energy has been placed in restructuring and realigning over the past year, and it will be all hands on deck as we play our part in ensuring a third term for the Jamaica Labour Party.”
Kerr further emphasised the critical role G2K will play in the lead-up to the upcoming general election, describing it as a pivotal moment for Jamaica’s future. He added, “The upcoming General Election will probably be the most important for many of us, and G2K stands ready as vanguards in protecting youth from experiencing Jamaica being run by the careless hands of the PNP.”
Under Kerr’s leadership, G2K has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young professionals and advocating for the policies of the Jamaica Labour Party, as the organization prepares to mobilise its members for the months ahead.
