St Catherine fisherman charged with murder
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica- A 22-year-old fisherman of Burkefield Meadow, Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine has been charged with murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition following a shooting in Old Harbour Bay, in the parish on November 19.
Charged is Romeo Dixon, for the killing of 47-year-old Oneil Fogah, another fisherman of Bay Bottom, also in the parish.
Reports from the Old Harbour Bay police are that about 9:38 pm, Fogah and a woman were patrons at a birthday party when several loud explosions were heard. When the shooting subsided, Fogah and the woman were seen with gunshot wounds. The police were summoned and upon arrival, both victims were assisted to the hospital where Fogah was pronounced dead, and the woman admitted.
Further investigations led to Dixon’s arrest. He was later charged with the offences. His court date is being finalised.
