900 pounds of ganja; cash, seized in St Andrew
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Investigators attached to the St Andrew South Police Division seized approximately 902 pounds of vegetable matter resembling ganja during an operation in Kingston on Saturday.
Reports from the lawmen are that about 4:33 pm, the team, acting on information, went to a location where a four-bedroom dwelling was searched.
During the search; 50 carton boxes labelled “National Hardo Sliced Bread, Product of Jamaica” was found in a room to the rear of the premises. The boxes contained a total of 344 rectangular parcels with compressed vegetable matter, weighing 902 pounds.
The police also seized $879,750 and three cell phones.
Two people were arrested in connection with the seizure. However, their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
