21-y-o held with 9mm pistol; Sub-machine gun found in abandoned building
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The police yesterday seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition in separate incidents in Spanish Town, St Catherine. One man was also arrested.
According to the lawmen, they were making enquiries on Young Street about 2:10 pm, when they noticed a young man who “aroused their suspicion”. He was accosted and during a search, a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition was taken from a bag he was carrying.He was subsequently arrested and charged.The police have identified him as 21-year-old Robert Duncan, otherwise called ‘Ben’, labourer of Elerslie Meadows in the parish.He is scheduled to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, May 30. The about 5:00 pm, the police found one Mini 14 Ruger Sub-machine gun and three 5.56 cartridges during a search of an abandoned building in Backlands, March Pen, St Catherine.No one was arrested in connection with this seizure.
