Firearm seized in Kingston western, man arrested

KINGSTON, Jamaica -Police from the Kingston Western Division seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Rose Lane, Kingston 14, on Tuesday.

Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 11:20 pm, lawmen were on foot patrol in the area when they observed a man acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

The team approached the man, searched him and found the firearm. The illegal weapon was identified as a Heckler and Koch 9mm pistol and was fitted with a magazine containing fourteen 9mm cartridges.

The man was arrested following the seizure.

Investigations are ongoing.
