Jolyan Silvera in custody in connection to wife’s murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Former Member of Parliament (MP) Jolyan Silvera was reportedly taken into custody on Thursday, nearly a week after his wife, Melissa, was laid to rest.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Cleon March has confirmed that Silvera was picked up by the Major Investigation Division (MID), and is to be questioned in relation to the murder of his wife.
Melissa was laid to rest on Friday and her funeral was held at the St Andrew Parish Church. She died on November 10, aged 42. It was initially reported that she died in her sleep. However, the death is now being investigated as a possible murder after a postmortem revealed that she was shot at least three times.
