Cavalier’s Campbell moves to Latvian club RFS
Cavalier SC midfielder Kenroy Campbell has signed a multi-year contract with top Latvian club FK Rigas Futbola Skola (RFS) for the upcoming season.
RFS, which is based in Riga Latvia, finished third in the league this past season. They also competed in the qualifying round of the Champions League, also last season.
Cavalier Sporting Director Rudoph Speid said Campbell’s move to Latvia is a massive step in the career of the former Rusea’s High star and he is confident that he will be very successful at the club.
“Any move to Europe is a good move, and so I just want to wish him all the best on this journey,” said Speid.

“This Latvian club is a really good team and it is a team that deals with young players and he is a former national Under-17 youth standout and so he does have pedigree,” Speid said.
The 21-year-old Campbell is no stranger to Europe having spent the 2022-2023 season on loan at Moldova’s club FC Zimbru Chisinau.
Speid, who was not willing to disclose the transfer fee, said that the deal was a good one for all the parties involved.
“He had a good season in Moldova and they wanted to keep him, but financially that didn’t work out and this Latvian club was able to meet the demands of the club and player and that is why it happened,” he said.

Campbell has become the fifth player to leave Cavalier this year, after Colin Anderson, who was the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) leading scorer last season with 20 goals, along with Ronaldo Webster recently moved to Macedonia’s top-flight club FK Bregalnica Štip. Richard King and Dwayne Atkinson signed one-year loan deals with Iceland club ÍBV earlier this year from Cavalier.
Cavalier, who was the youngest team in last year’s Jamaica Premier League (JPL) made it to the final of the championships before losing 2-1 to first-time winners Mount Pleasant Academy.
Speid noted that because the average age of his team is 21, and they have been doing so well in the JPL they have managed to attract a lot of clubs in Europe. He said more players could be leaving soon for greener pastures.
“It is always a possibility that more of our players could leave for overseas because of the age of our team and how good the players are technically, and I know that people would want to come for them,” he said.
