#ParisOlympics: Tracey fifth in 800m repechage, misses out on semis
Jamaica’s Adelle Tracey crashed out of the women’s 800m at the Paris Olympics after placing fifth in her heat of the repechage round on Saturday.
Tracey, a finalist at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, ran 2:03.67, slower than the 2:03.47 seconds she ran for eighth place in her first round heat on Friday’s opening day.
Only the winners of the four repechage races and the next two fastest women will advance to Sunday’s semi-finals, joining the automatic qualifiers from Friday.
Jamaica’s Natoya Goule had won her opening round race and advanced.
Tracey, the national record holder in the women’s 1500m, will turn her attention to the ‘metric mile’ which starts on Tuesday, August 6.
