#ParisOlympics: Hall fails to advance in women’s discus throw

Samantha Hall failed to advance in the women’s discus throw at the Olympic Games after finishing at the foot of her first round group in the preliminaries held at Stade de France on Friday.

Hall, who had competed at the World Championships in 2022 in Eugene, Oregon and Budapest, Hungary last year, had a best mark of 54.94m, on her lone legal effort, well below her season’s best 62.12m set in mid- March at the National Stadium.

Just two athletes achieved the automatic qualifying mark of 64.00m from her group, World Championships gold medallist Valarie Allman of the USA with 69.59m on her only attempt and Jorinde Van Klinken of the Netherlands, 64.81m, on her second try.
