#ParisOlympics: Jamaica’s Josh Kirlew fifth in 100m butterfly heat
Jamaica’s Joshua Kirlew finished fifth in his first round men’s 100m butterfly and failed to advance at the Olympic Games swimming competition held at the Paris La Dedense Arena on Friday.
The UK-based swimmer clocked 54.66 seconds in the first heat that was won by Croatia’s Nikola Miljenic in 53.32 seconds, beating Uganda’s Jesse Ssuubi Ssengonzi, 53.76 seconds.
Kirlew, who is one of two Jamaican swimmers at the Olympics, has a personal best of 54.24 seconds set this year.
