Sagicor kicks off back-to-school wellness tour this weekend at Devon House
Sagicor Group Jamaica will be hosting a series of wellness fairs across the island over the next three weekends, beginning this Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Devon House in St Andrew.
The other two stops will be at Harmony Beach in Montego Bay, St James, on August 27 and Portmore Mall, St Catherine, on September 3.
Led by the Sagicor Life Wellness Unit, the tour will focus on personal and financial wellness, and will provide free health checks and medicals at all locations. Teams from Sagicor Life, bank, investments, Advantage General Insurance Company, and Alliance Financial Services will provide public education on different aspects of holistic personal wellness and facilitate enrolment for various personal wellness plans and products offered by Sagicor Group.
A Kiddies’ Village, put on by Sagicor Foundation, will also be at each stop, where children will be feted to games, rides, snacks, and stationery supplies as they prepare to return to school.
A company release reports Sagicor Life Wellness Manager Stacy Goodin as saying that the tour seeks to assist families across Jamaica with preparations for school reopening, while simultaneously reminding them about the importance of wellness in all aspects, especially as chronic illnesses continue to increase in the population.
“This tour aligns well with Sagicor Life’s ongoing ‘Do It For Yourself’ wellness campaign in which we seek to remind Jamaicans of the value of their personal health and wellness,” Goodin said.
“In addition to the school medicals, we’ll be having workout sessions and demonstrations as well as free blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index checks for adults. These check-ups are an important part of helping Jamaicans to keep their health in focus and ultimately curbing the prevalence of non-communicable illnesses,” she added.
