Sagicor Group ‘lights up’ in nod to Breast Cancer Awareness Month
WITH a focus on awareness and early detection, Sagicor Group Jamaica has joined Jamaicans islandwide who support the breast cancer awareness cause by lighting three of its buildings in pink – the designated colour for the month.
Jacqueline Donaldson, vice-president, corporate services at Sagicor Group, said the messages of support for awareness and breast checks is one that has always resonated with the group, and this remains the case this year.
“This year we are fully embracing the theme ‘Inspiring Hope. Celebrating Resilience’. We are lighting three of our buildings to represent ‘hope, courage and love’ in solidarity with the men and women across the island who have either battled, or who are currently battling the disease, as well as people who have family members who are battling this disease.
“We would like each Jamaican to become even more aware of the importance of early detection in this fight against cancer,” said Donaldson.
The group has lit its Sagicor Bank head office at Dominica Drive, Sagicor head office at Barbados Avenue and the Sagicor Life building at Holborn Road, all in New Kingston, as a reminder of this solidarity. The buildings will remain lit between October 1-31.
