Junction Expo boosting businesses
JUNCTION, St Elizabeth — Business operator and conceptualiser of the Junction Business Expo Kenesha Thomas says the fourth staging of the event last Friday in this fast-booming south-central town was a major boost for businesses here.
“…We had over 20 participants. We had Access Financial, Geoland and Courier Jamaica as well as D&G Auto dealer as the title sponsor for the outside broadcast. This year was very special, because we had many types of businesses including technology-based, variety stores, car dealers, banks, shipping companies, clothing stores,” she explained recently.
She said the support from financial institutions at the event held at Roye’s Shopping Centre included focusing on providing services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
“We have received overwhelming support from the business community. Doing this expo has increased small businesses’ customer base and also allows them to formalise their businesses,” she said.
“Jamaica National was on board and helped them to open business accounts and also the process of getting a card machine. Access Financial was also influential in sharing their Christmas loan special for small businesses,” she added.
Thomas, the proprietor of Junction Variety Store, reiterated that “everything works better when people help each other” in a similar reference to an interview with the Observer in 2021.
“I hope to continue helping small businesses to get the kick-start that they need to propel them to succeed,” she said.
The event featured an outside broadcast on Edge 103.5 FM with the Burgerman Show.
