International student affordability
Dear Mr Brown,
I keep hearing about the high cost of living in Canada due to inflation. Can you suggest a more affordable school in the province of Ontario.
MB
Dear MB,
The Government of Canada increased the cost-of-living requirement for study permit applicants to CAN$20,635 as of January 1, 2024. As such, international students will be looking for an affordable school/programme that represents the best value for their investment.
Lambton has a track record of commitment to affordability. There are campuses in Ontario, including Sarnia, Toronto, Mississauga, and Ottawa. For many years, the school has offered two-year graduate diploma programmes with paid co-op work experience. By not having to pay tuition for the co-op term, students save significantly on tuition fees when compared to the cost of other public colleges. Moreover, there are partial scholarships available for student who apply through our office.
For example, for the September 2024 intake, top international students will be eligible to receive entrance scholarships in the amount of CAN$3,000 at the Lambton Campus.
Eligible programmes include:
•Advanced Photography
•Business Management
•Business Management – Human Resources
•Business Management – International Business
•Business
•Chemical Laboratory Technician
•Cloud Infrastructure & Administration
•Financial Planning & Wealth Management
•Hospitality Management
•Interprofessional Practice – Gerontology
•Occupational Health & Safety Management
•Pharmacy Technician
•Power Engineering Technician
•Project Management & Strategic Leadership
•Quality Engineering Management
•Sports Business Management
Lambton also has one of the highest study approval rates for Ontario colleges.
