Happy Independence Day, America!
Alison Smith, the Jamaican-American who just completed her historic term as the first black woman president of the almost century-old Broward County Bar Association (BCBA), Florida, and Jamaican-American attorney Marlon Hill, a partner in the law firm Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, at which she works, are enjoying the festivities at the July 4th Independence Day party at the United States Embassy in Kingston, last Saturday. Today is the 247th anniversary of the American Independence Day. Reggae Queen Marcia Griffiths entertained the gathering with several of her hits and capped off her performance with the Electric Boogie, which pulled everyone to the dance floor to do the moves known the world over.
