#WorldChamps2023: Jamaican men through to 4x400m final
Jamaica’s men’s 4x400m relay team is through to Sunday’s final of the event after winning the second of two heats at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The quartet of Rusheen McDonald, Jevaughn Powell, Zandrion Barnes and D’Andre Anderson ran a season’s best (SB) 2:59.82. They crossed the line ahead of France (3:00.05/SB) and Italy (3:00.14/SB).
In semi-final one, the United States (2:58.47) won ahead of India, who clocked an area record 2:59.05; Great Britain and Northern Ireland in a SB of 2:59.42
Botswana (2:59.42/SB) and the Netherlands (3:00.23/SB) are the non-automatic qualifiers.
The men’s 4x400m final is scheduled for Sunday at 2:37 pm Jamaica time.
