Welder shot dead in St Catherine home invasion
A 42-year-old welder was shot dead during a brazen attack by gunmen at his home in Quarry Hill in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Monday morning.
He has been identified as Damion Smith, otherwise called Kemar, a resident of Sunrise Avenue in Quarry Hill. Police have not yet established a motive for the attack.
Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE is that shortly before midday, Smith was at home when he was pounced upon by gunmen who opened fire, hitting him all over the body. The men then fled the scene on foot.
The police were summoned, and when they arrived saw the now-deceased suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds all over his body. He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police upon processing the crime scene retrieved seven 9-millimetre spent shells.
