Waterhouse end winless run in Wray and Nephew JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Waterhouse FC brushed aside 10-man Treasure Beach 4-0 to end a four games winless run while Harbour View won their first game, beating Lime Hall Academy 3-0 in the Wray And Nephew Jamaica Premier League at Stadium East field on Monday.
It was a tough night for the two promoted teams as they extended their winless runs and are both in the bottom half of the points tables, Treasure Beach are in 12th place on seven points from eight games, three points above Lime Hall Academy who are tied with last placed Molynes United.
Andre Fletcher scored twice, once in each half for Waterhouse who jumped into fourth place on 15 points from 10 games and led 2-1 at half time.
Fletcher opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Javane Bryan made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute before Lorenzo Lewin pulled a goal back for Treasure Beach in the 42nd minute.
Treasure Beach went down to 10 men early in the second half when Ramario Thompson was sent off after getting a second yellow card in the game.
Fletcher then restored Waterhouse’s two goals margin in the 82nd minute before Andre Smith tacked on a goal in time added.
Harbour View ended their six games winless run with a solid first half performance against Lime Hall as all three goals came in the first half hour of the games.
David Reid, who played in the ISSA daCosta Cup this season, scored a double, his first Premier League goals, netting in the second minute from a header and had a second goal in the 28th minute while Shaquiel Bradford had also scored in the 11th minute.
