WATCH: Go Wild Ja — The Jamaican Iguana
KINGSTON, Jamaica —Did you know the Jamaican Iguana was thought to be extinct in the 1940s?
It was rediscovered in the 1990s by a pig hunter called Edwin Duffus who then brought it to the Hope Zoo.
This week, Curator Joey Brown tells OBSERVER ONLINE reporter Kelsey Thomas all about the zoo’s conservation programme to recover this critically endangered species.
Over 550 iguanas have since been introduced back into the wild through this essential programme.
