Upgrading works underway at Annotto Bay Hospital, says Dunn
ST MARY, Jamaica – State Minister in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and St Mary South Eastern Member of Parliament (MP), Dr Norman Dunn, says upgrading works are in progress at the Annotto Bay Hospital in the parish.
“We are currently constructing two new blocks at the hospital. One will house the orthopaedic wing, the lab and administrative area, and the other will house a brand-new paediatric ward,” Dunn informed.
He was speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday where he opened the 2023/24 State of the Constituency Debate.
Dunn advised that the additions “will fully transform the institution and increase the workers’ ability to save lives”.
The MP also informed that construction work is ongoing at the Annotto Bay Clinic.
“The Annotto Bay Clinic is undergoing a comprehensive renovation. Additionally, the Belfield Clinic that has been in a state of disrepair for so many years and is now closed and the services dispersed to… other health institutions, I am happy to report that a brand-new structure will be created, with construction to begin shortly,” Dunn further stated.
