UPDATE: Police name eight inmates who escaped Black River lock-up
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica— Police sources have named eight inmates who escaped custody during a jailbreak at the Black River police station lock-up overnight.
They are:
1. Oral Cole, charged with robbery;
2. Richard Brown, charged with robbery;
3. Alrick Hutchinson, charged with robbery;
4. Dewar Williams, charged with illegal possession of firearm;
5. Kenneth Stewart, charged with illegal possession of firearm;
6. Anward Hines, charged with murder;
7. Dean Simpson, charged with rape and robbery; and
8. Javaughn Simms, charged with murder.
“They cut the metal bar at the window. It has to be a machine they use to cut that. One cell guard with 60 odd prisoners,” a police source told OBSERVER ONLINE on Monday morning.
Police have since launched a manhunt in search of the eight inmates.
