WATCH: Students left stranded as Westmoreland taxi operators protest Public Order Reset
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Several commuters, including students, have been left stranded Monday morning as the taxis that ply the Whitehouse to Savanna-La-Mar route in Westmoreland have withdrawn their services.
The cabbies are protesting the Public Order Reset being undertaken by the Westmoreland Police and the Municipal Corporation.
The Public Order Reset commenced last week Tuesday. A similar demonstration also took place.

According to the Order, Whitehouse taxi operators who do not have Great George Street on their license will not be allowed to transport passengers there.
One taxi operator, who identified himself as “Blacka, told OBSERVER ONLINE that there was enough parking spaces to facilitate all the drivers.
“It is very difficult enuh. Dem nuh wah some a di taxis to guh down the town. It nah work out, the people dem a suffer and the park cyah hold all a wi. Wi a try fi see if dem can change up the system.
