Strong support for Outsource2Jamaica conference and exhibition
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Senior members of the Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ) are describing the fourth staging of Outsource2Jamaica conference and exhibition, recently held at the Jewel Grande Montego Bay All-inclusive Resort, as a success.
Head of GSAJ, Anand Biradar, and Gloria Henry, vice president BPO and Logistics, Port Authority of Jamaica, both expressed that the over 200 participants, who attended the event, were above projection.
Biradar said attendence was about 20 per cent beyond expectation.
“It’s more than expected. I came here yesterday (Wednesday) and we had more people than seats. Usually you plan for some number, targeting the actual you have about 20 per cent more attendance than expected than normal,” Biradar told OBSERVER ONLINE the end of the conference recently.
He added: “I have spoken to about 30 people and a lot of the people were saying this exceeds their expectations in terms of what they got to see, to learn”.
Henry also expressed her pleasure with the strong support for the conference and exhibition.
“We are very pleased with the turnout and the feedback that we have got. Our intention was to keep a small intimate event because there is another event coming up in June, called Outsource LAC, so specifically we were targeting 150 and we had over 200 persons here,” Henry stated.
She noted that there was a bigger focus on logistics during this year’s conference, held under the theme: “Ahead of the Curve”.
