Residents find missing woman’s body after search in St Mary
ST MARY, Jamaica – A woman who went missing last weekend was found dead by residents of a St Mary community on Wednesday.
Police said the decomposed body of 56-year-old Ann-Marie Henderson, a higgler from Eden Hill in Jacks River, St Mary, was found in bushes, during a search by concerned residents.
Henderson was last seen on Friday. When she was found Wednesday, she was partially nude, and her clothing was seen a short distance away.
It is reported that about 6pm on Friday, Henderson left home saying she was going to visit a man about some money a short distance away. However, she did not return home.
A search was launched by residents who stumbled upon the body about 4 pm Wednesday and summoned the police.
Upon the arrival of the police, the body was seen facedown clad in red underwear and a foot of white Puma sneakers. Items of clothing belonging to the deceased were observed a short distance away.
Police revealed that at the time of leaving home, the now deceased was said to be wearing a black blouse, brown pants, a pair of white puma sneakers and a wig.
The body was removed to the morgue as police commenced investigations.
