Rains lash Mandeville, traffic pile-up after thunderstorm
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — There was a pile-up of traffic in south-central Mandeville on Thursday afternoon amid heavy and persistent rains during a thunderstorm.
Debris from trees impeded traffic from Park Crescent to Hargreaves Avenue and South Race Course Road mid-afternoon Thursday.
Scores of pedestrians sought shelter as lightning strikes threatened their safety.
Earlier this month, Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell appealed to residents to take the necessary precautions as the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season got underway.
