Portland fisherman charged with assault
PORTLAND, Jamaica— A Portland fisherman has been charged after he allegedly pulled a gun on another man during an incident in Sanshore, Portland on Saturday, July 8.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm, assault at common law and assault occasioning actual bodily harm is 30-year-old Christopher Gayle otherwise called ‘Puk’, of a Sanshore address.
Reports from the Manchioneal police are that a man was at home, when he heard a woman and Gayle arguing and went to investigate. Whilst checking, Gayle pushed the man to the ground after which he pulled a firearm, pointed it at the man, and then ran. The matter was reported to the police and an investigation launched.
Gayle was arrested and charged on Monday, July 10 when he reported at the station as part of his condition of bail in another matter.
He is set to appear in the Portland Parish Court on Friday, July 14.
