WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Two police constables assigned to the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station in Westmoreland were captured Wednesday going beyond the call of duty to help a visually impaired man walk safely along a major thoroughfare in the town.
Constable Chawayne Mitchell is seen sporting a smile as the elderly man holds his hand along the usually busy Barracks Road, while his colleague Constable Micheal Wright walks behind them.
Councillor for the Frome Division, Rudolph Uter told OBSERVER ONLINE that he saw the selfless act and decided to capture the moment on camera.
Uter said he was moved by the kind gesture extended to the elderly man by the constables and he commends them wholeheartedly.
