One man injured, another arrested following chopping incident in St Thomas

ST THOMAS, Jamaica— One man has been hospitalised and another man arrested and charged with wounding with intent following a dispute in Salt Lane in Morant Bay, St Thomas on Sunday, December 26.

Charged is 45-year-old Richard Garwood of Macqueen Lane, Morant Bay in the parish.

Reports are that Garwood and a man had a dispute. Garwood reportedly went home, retrieved a machete and inflicted chop wounds to the man’s head.

The police were summoned and the injured man taken to hospital, where he is admitted.

Garwood was subsequently arrested and charged.
