NWA urges motorists to exercise caution at ‘malfunctioning’ St James traffic signals
ST JAMES, Jamaica – The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to exercise caution as two traffic signals in Montego Bay, St James are now malfunctioning.
One of the malfunctioning traffic signals is located at Providence Road and its intersection with the Elegant Corridor. It is said to be out of commission due to damage sustained following a recent motor vehicle accident.
The other damaged traffic signal is located at the North Paradise and Harbour Street intersection.
In a release, Community Relations Officer at the NWA, Janel Ricketts, advised that when traffic lights are out of service, no one has the right of way. As a result, all motorists should exercise due care when using these intersections.
The NWA said works are currently being undertaken to repair these signals and has indicated that they should be up and running in short order.
