Medical examiner probing Jo Mersa’s death awaiting toxicology report
The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department is awaiting toxicology test results to complete the autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death of reggae artiste Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley.

Jo Mersa, the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley, died on December 27 in Miami-Dade County. He was 31.
“The Medical Examiner is awaiting toxicology test results which can take a few weeks depending on workload,” Chris Thomas, a detective in the Public Information Section of the Miami-Dade Police Department, told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Reports are that officers from the Pinecrest Police Department found Marley unconscious inside his vehicle at a shopping centre’s parking lot. Paramedics at the scene later determined that he died.
The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau is leading the investigation.
No foul play was suspected.
