Meadforest FC win three in a row in JFF Tier II
ST ANN, Jamaica— Meadforest FC made it three wins in a row after beating Browns Town 2-1 in their Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Tier II clash at Drax Hall, St Ann on Wednesday.
The KSAFA team raced to nine points to top the points table while Treasure Beach are second— despite being held to a draw at home— and FC Reno broke into the top three with back to back wins.
Dario Dacres gave Meadforest the lead in the 41st minute before Rosario Edwards doubled the advantage in the 59th minute.
Garcian Allen pulled a goal back for Browns Town in the 69th minute but lost for the first time this season and fell to eighth place in the tables.
Treasure Beach dropped points for the first time this season after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home at Breds Sports Complex by Lime Hall Academy.
Jordan Blake gave Treasure Beach the lead in the 65th minute but Carlos Campbell scored in the 88th minute to salvage a point for the St Ann based team.
Former Premier League champions FC Reno raced up the tables with back to back wins after hammering Downs YC 5-1 at Llandilo Sports Complex with doubles from Abijah Wallace and Michael Kerr.
FC Reno, who were beaten 3-1 in their first game, have scored eight goals in their last two games with Wallace scoring in the sixth and 21st minutes. Kerr, who is on four goals, scored in the 72nd and 76th minutes while Conroy Dixon got the other in the 81st minute.
Dwayne Nembhard scored for Downs in the 30th minute and Nickjay White in time added at the end of the second half.
Falmouth United battled from two goals down after 20 minutes to earn a 3-3 draw with Racing United at Elleston Wakeland, both teams finishing the game with 10 players.
Tajay Cooper of Falmouth United was sent off in the 16th minute while Deandre Johnson of Racing United was red carded in the 31st minute.
Javaughn Cole in the 17th minute and Nickyle Ellis in the 20th gave Racing a 2-0 lead at half time but Falmouth United rallied early in the second half with Braxton Richards pulling a goal back in the 50th minute and Anthony Roberts levelling the scores in the 57th minute.
Raheem Edwards restored Racing United’s lead in the 59th minute but Phelon Christies made sure the home team got a point when he scored from close range in the 90th minute.
Albion Mountain earned their first win after back to back 0-0 draws, beating Wadada United FC 2-0 at Irwin High with goals from Kymoni Silvera in the 17th minute and Daewome Hawthorne in the 54th minute.
Portlanders FC were also 2-0 winners over Hopewell United at Orchard Sports Complex, Calvin Baxter scoring in the 36th minute and Jahmani Hamilton in the 60th minute getting the goals.
