‘Masika’ charged with shooting with intent in St Catherine
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Twenty-four-year-old Maxan Thompson otherwise called ‘Masika’, a farmer of Coco Ridge district, Browns Hall, St Catherine is facing multiple charges including shooting with intent following an incident in Bellas Gate district in the parish on Monday, April 17.
Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 12:30 pm, lawmen were on patrol in the area, when Thompson opened gunfire at them. The officers managed to escape injury and Thompson eluded them. He was later arrested during an operation and subsequently charged.
Thompson has also been charged with possession of prohibited weapon; unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
His court date is being finalised.
