Market Bag: Prices steady, but drought concerns at Coronation
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Food prices this week are largely steady compared to last week at the Coronation Market.
Among the prices shoppers should expect are $80 per pound for tomato, $220 for onion, $200 for sweet pepper and $400 for lettuce.
Vendors are, however, anticipating higher prices amid worsening drought conditions.
“Next week and week after galang down things ah guh raise because the drough ah get tighter,” vendor Richard told OBSERVER ONLINE.
