Manchester man arrested after allegedly being held with gun
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A construction worker of a Manchester address has been charged with breaches of the firearms act after he was allegedly caught with a gun at a bar.
The incident occurred during a joint police/military operation in mango Grove district, Bellaire, in the parish on Wednesday.
Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon is 26-year-old Orain Tomlins of Mango Grove district in the parish.
Reports from the Mandeville Police are that about 10:50 pm, a snap raid was carried out at a bar.
During the operation, Tomlins was seen acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of the lawmen. He was accosted and searched.
One Pietro Beretta 9-millimetre pistol was allegedly found inside a bag he was carrying. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
His court date is being finalised.
