Man turns himself in after allegedly killing attacker in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A Manchester man who allegedly chopped to death a 52-year-old man during a dispute in Hibernia District on Tuesday night has turned himself in to the police.
The deceased has been identified as Rohan Whittingham, a resident of Hibernia.
Head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Lloyd Darby, confirmed that the accused man turned himself in mid-morning Wednesday.
A police report said about 11:30 pm, Whittingham and the man had a dispute at a shop in Hibernia during which he was reportedly attacked and stabbed with a knife.
Police said the injured man ran from the shop but was trailed home by Whittingham, where another confrontation ensued.
The injured man allegedly chopped Whittingham in the head.
Whittingham was later pronounced dead.
