Man killed in Greenvale, Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – Police are probing the murder of a man in the troubled community of Greenvale, Manchester on Friday.
Police identified the man as Peter Clarke, otherwise called “Goodeh”, a resident of Bethel Street in the parish.
Police reports are that about 8:01 pm, a party was being held on Bethel Street when residents heard loud explosions. Clarke was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. The police were alerted and he was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Residents are fearful of the possibility that the killing could lead to reprisals.
Last year, the police placed a restriction on entertainment events and a curfew in Greenvale following a double murder on August 5 at a party in an effort to avert reprisals.
