Kingston Western cops slap firearm charges on person of interest
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A man who turned himself over to police after he was named as a Person of Interest, has been slapped with assault and firearm charges.
Tajay Freeman, otherwise called ‘Weng’, is charged with assault at common law and illegal possession of a firearm in an incident that occurred in Denham Town, Kingston, last month.
Freeman, 30, from Golden Heights in Denham Town, handed himself over to lawmen two Fridays ago after he was named along with five other men and asked to come in to the Kingston Western police.
He was questioned last week and charged for an incident that occurred about 12:05 pm on October 28, 2022, along Regent Street, Kingston 14.
It was reported that Freeman and a woman had an argument, and he left and returned. The police said a firearm was pointed at the woman, who then made a report to the police out of fear for her life. Following investigations, Freeman was charged.
