KINGSTON, Jamaica – Chicken lovers are expected to pay less for some of their favourite meals at KFC as Restaurants of Jamaica (ROJ) on Friday announced a price rollback.

In a statement posted to its social media pages, ROJ stated that prices of its Big Deal, Meal Deal and Chicken Boxes menu items have been reduced. The price cuts, however, do not apply to Zingers, Hot Wings, Popcorn Chicken or Krispers menu items.

The company, in its announcement, did not state the exact value of the price cuts that will come into effect.

It said the price rollback is a result of the recent price cut by its supplier, Jamaica Broilers.

“Although this price cut from Jamaica Broilers was minimal, we welcome this reduction as a step in the right direction and we look forward to more reductions as the global market continues to stabilise,” ROJ said, adding that it will “continue to monitor the local and global supply developments and will continue sharing benefits of supplier price cuts with our customers.”

KFC said it is proud to provide relief to its customers, especially at a time when inflation has become a worrisome issue.

KFC has come under fire in recent times with many customers threatening to boycott the popular restaurant after prices kept soaring. A KFC Big Deal which cost approximately $800 pre-pandemic, increased to over $1200 in recent months.
