Kate Hendrickson-Chin appointed GM of Courtleigh Hotel
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Courtleigh Hotel and Suites has announced that Kate Hendrickson-Chin, daughter of owner and managing director Kevin Hendrickson, has been appointed as the new General Manager.
Kate, who is the youngest daughter of the Hendrickson children, joined the family business in 2011 as director of Special Projects for The Courtleigh Hospitality Group after completing her Bachelor’s Degree from George Washington University with a double major in Hospitality Management and Marketing.
“Prior to joining the team, Kate worked during her summer holidays, from as early as high school, learning the business from the ground up. In the role of director of Special Projects, she was integrally involved in all aspects of the various projects being undertaken across the properties and played an instrumental role in uplifting the brand,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hailing her as a dynamic leader, the statement continued: “She will be responsible to manage the overall operations of the hotel and to carry on the phenomenal track record of this award-winning property as it continues to offer exceptional service.”
Reacting to news of her new appointment, Hendrickson-Chin said she is excited to take on the new role, “and to work alongside an excellent team who had contributed to the remarkable success of this property and look forward to us reaching even greater heights.”
Kevin Hendrickson, who held the role of general manager for Courtleigh, will continue as managing director of the entire Courtleigh Hospitality Group portfolio.
