Integrity Commission submits corruption probe report, indicative ruling to Parliament
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Integrity Commission has announced that it has submitted a Report of Investigation and an associated Indicative Ruling of its Director of Corruption Prosecution to Parliament.
The revelation was made in a press release issued on Monday, which the commission said is in keeping with its commitment to notify the public once it sends an investigative report to Parliament for tabling,
The documents issued were formally received and signed for at the Parliament at 10:05 am on Monday, the release stated.
According to the commission, hard copies of the investigation report were also submitted in separate envelopes, under cover of identical letters, addressed to the following officials:
(1) Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, CD, MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives
(2) Juliet Holness, MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives
(3) Senator Tom Tavares-Finson, OJ, CD, KC, JP, President of the Senate
(4) Valrie Curtis, CD, BH (M), JP, Clerk to the Houses of Parliament
The commission said the indicative ruling, which is embodied in a second and separate letter, was also similarly submitted. A USB flash drive, with PDF electronic copies of all documentation submitted, was also conveyed, it stated.
The Integrity Commission said it anticipates that its investigation report and indicative ruling will be tabled in both Houses of Parliament as soon as possible, and that the indicative ruling will be read out into the records of Parliament.
