
Inmate charged for allegedly fatally stabbing another
KINGSTON, Jamaica — An inmate at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Facility has been charged with murder following the June 16 stabbing of another at the facility.
Charged is 30-year-old Dimitri Clarke, an inventory clerk of McWhinney Street, Kingston. He has been charged in connection with the death of 43-year-old Melvin Hill, a higgler of Pleasant Hill in Clarendon.
Reports from the Elletson Road police are that about 9:15 am, the inmates were released from lockdown when a fight ensued between the two men shortly after. During the confrontation, Clarke reportedly used a metal object to stab Hill in the chest. He was subsequently pronounced dead at hospital.

A court date is being arranged for Clarke to answer to the charge.
