Goule-Toppin secures second spot in Diamond League 800m final
Jamaica’s flag-bearer for the women’s 800m, Natoya Goule-Toppin, produced a brilliant performance to finish second in the final of the event at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich, Switzerland on Thursday.
Goule-Toppin, who is ranked fourth in the world this year, clocked a time of 1:57.85 seconds to finish behind Mary Moraa of Kenya.
The Kenya international, Moraa, won the Diamond League trophy in 1:57.63, while Sage Hurta of the United States finished third in 1:58.47 seconds.
Meanwhile, 2019 Doha World Champion Halimah Nakaayi of Uganda (1:58.82,) and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medal winner Keely Hodgkinson of Great Britain (1:59.06), finished fourth and fifth respectively.
