Gary Allen to demit office as CEO of RJRGLEANER Group
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Effective December 31, 2023, Gary Allen will demit office as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group.
The Board of Directors of Radio Jamaica Limited (RJL) made the announcement on Tuesday.
Allen served as CEO for 15 years, having taken over from Lester Spaulding in October 2008. Within a year he had reshaped the organisation, and reported stellar profits while media companies both at home and abroad found their revenues and audiences dwindling.

Deputy CEO for Print and Digital Services, Anthony Smith will assume duties as the new CEO on January 1, 2024.
In addition, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Christopher Barnes will be resigning as a director of the Board effective October 31 and as CSO on December 31. He will continue to serve as a consultant with the Group and remain on the Gleaner Company Media Limited and Broadcast subsidiary boards, the Board said.
