Flankers Primary and MoBay Prep seek U-13 quarters
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Flankers Primary and Montego Bay Prep School could complete the quarterfinals of the St James Football Association Victoria Mutual Foundation Uplift Under-13 competition on Wednesday when the competition continues with four rescheduled games at Wespow Park.
Six of the eight quarter-final spots have been decided so far and if Flankers Primary and Montego Bay Prep gets their desired results, they will join the qualifiers.
Barracks Road Primary and Green Pond have taken the two spots from Zone C, John Rollins Success Primary and Catherine Hall are through from Zone D, while Howard Cooke Primary is through from Zone A and Corinaldi Avenue from Zone B.
Flankers Primary, who is second with nine points, needs only a point from their game against out-of-contention Lethe Primary to join Corinaldi Avenue from Zone B and would finish ahead of Mt Salem Primary and Irwin Primary who are both on six points.
If Flankers fail to get at least a point from Lethe Primary, the winner of the game between Irwin and Mt Salem could get the other spot in the quarter-finals.
Montego Bay Prep, who are also second in Zone A on nine points, must beat Somerton to advance as they can be passed by defending champions Granville Primary, who have a game in hand against Dumfries and could still advance.
Meanwhile, Corinaldi Avenue Primary take son Barrett Town in the first game set to start at 10:00 am, where they can secure Zone B honours with a point.
Corinaldi Avenue have won all four games played so far and have conceded just two goals in the process, while Barrett Town are on three points from one win.
