Female banker, husband on drug rap for court today
ST JAMES, Jamaica – A female banker and her husband, charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, are set to return to court Tuesday.
Sheena Mitchell-Headley and her co-accused, Chad, both from Goodwill, St James, were granted $5 million bails each when they appeared in the St James Parish Court earlier this month.
Sheena Headley was charged by the Narcotics police on June 20, 2022, after she was found in possession of US$550,000 worth of cocaine. Her husband Chad Headley, who was also a suspect in that investigation, subsequently went on the run and was being pursued by the police.
Following a media publication of his identity as a person of interest, he eventually turned himself over to the police accompanied by his attorney on June 23.
He was jointly charged along with his wife with possession, dealing, trafficking, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
It is alleged that about 6:00 pm on June 15, a white 2002 Toyota Prado SUV was intercepted at premises in Goodwill, after making several attempts to elude the police.
The police say during a subsequent search of the vehicle, 10 rectangular-shaped packages containing cocaine weighing approximately 25 pounds, were found. Mrs Headley was driving the vehicle.
