ST MARY, Jamaica — A farmer is to face the court on Thursday to answer manslaughter charges in connection with a traffic mishap that left a lawman dead.

Constable Adrian Pendley reportedly succumbed to injuries he received on April 8, when he collided with an opened passenger door of a car allegedly being driven by Allen.

The allegations are that the car stopped in a prohibited area, a passenger opened the door and Pendley, who was driving his service bike towards Port Maria, slammed into the door. He was thrown from his bike onto a vehicle.
The constable was initially taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital, then later to the University Hospital of the West Indies where he died.
Pendley’s funeral will be held on Saturday, May 20 at Ocho Rios Methodist Church.
