Double murder rocks May Pen, Clarendon
Just days after three persons were shot and killed at a shop in Clarendon, investigators in the parish are now probing a double murder, this time in the Bucks Common community in May Pen.
Three persons were injured in Thursday night’s attack, two were pronounced dead at hospital.
The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old janitor Omar Sinclair, also known as ‘Coolie’, and 31-year-old Dwayne Collins, both of the neighbouring Bailey’s Avenue community. The third person, a female, was also injured.
According to the police, all three victims were among a group of residents attending a wake. About 10:45 pm, men on foot approached the group and opened fire hitting all three persons.
When the police arrived on the scene, the two men and a female were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were transported to hospital where the male victims were pronounced dead.
This incident comes just three days after three people, including a 16-year-old boy, were killed and five others injured in a gun attack at a shop in Hayes, Clarendon on Tuesday night.
The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old labourer Christopher Romany, otherwise called ‘Lucky’; and 16-year-old student Demaro Gibson, both of Hayes. The third person, 51-year-old O’Neil Lennon, also known as ‘Blacks’ or ‘Steelman’, of Capture Land in Newtown, Hayes, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

Reports are that about 8:45 pm, Romany and Gibson were among a group of people at a shop playing dominoes when a silver Toyota Axio motor car drove up and gunmen alighted from the vehicle and opened fire at the gathering.
The police say they will remain on high alert to prevent possible reprisals that may arise from this incident.
The police say the Bucks Common area has been experiencing a lull in criminal activities in recent times, however, the community is still of concern due to its history of violence coupled with an ongoing gang feud.
