Ding Dong set to release first body of work later this year
Ding Dong has amassed a string of popular hits through the years, ever since he exploded onto the musical radar in 2006 with the inescapable Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull Up.
Seventeen years later, Ding Dong is yet to release a full body of work. That is about to change over the next few months, as the dancer and deejay is promising to release an EP later this year.
“We have been doing this (music) for so many years with consistency and without an album or an EP. It has always been about releasing singles. But this year, Father God said to me, put out a body of work and I’m going to release an EP first and then an album afterwards,” Ding Dong disclosed in an interview with OBSERVER ONLINE backstage at the Grace Atlanta Jerk Festival in Lithonia, Georgia on Sunday night.
“Look out fi di EP, we finally doing it. It’s going to come out later this year, it definitely a forward da year ya. Bravo Ravers will be featured on it and there will also be a few surprises,” Ding Dong said.
Bravo Ravers is a member of Ding Dong’s Ravers Clavers dance group. Both previously collaborated on several hits including Let Him Guh, Yeng Yeng and Dweet.
Ding Dong delivered a workmanlike performance at the Atlanta Jerk Festival with Bravo Ravers and Trey Ravers in unison. The trio danced their way into the hearts of patrons who had no choice but to engage themselves in the choreography on display.
Hits like Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull Up, Shoulda Fi a Fling, Holiday, Bup Bup Bup, Stir Fry and Happiness attacked the crowd like missiles from the sky.
Ding Dong also interacted with the crowd and brought some youngsters on stage to engage in a dancing showdown.
“When I forward out to these shows, I have to incorporate the kids. I like these events because the yutes come out, the young adults, middle age, mature people and they come to have fun. The kids are here all day waiting on their favourite artistes, so I try to always incorporate them. Big up Grace, the other sponsors and the organisers for a job well done. This event ya shatt,” said Ding Dong.
